Electric Zoo attendees have waited for months for an official update on refunds for the 2023 edition, and today that update has finally arrived.
Thousands of dance music lovers made their way to New York City last year to attend Electric Zoo. The festival, which was purchased by Avant Gardner in 2022, touted a massive lineup, unique activations, and more, but that weekend, they faced turbulent waters instead of smooth sailing. Friday was canceled due to construction delays, Saturday saw lengthy will-call lines for attendees preventing them from getting into the festival grounds, and on Sunday, Randall’s Island reached capacity five hours after gates opened.
Electric Zoo promised refunds for attendees, but their lack of updates led to multiple lawsuits being filed as attendees sought to hold Avant Gardner accountable for the mess. Today, nine months after the weekend concluded, an official update has surfaced regarding the refund status for those who were affected by the Friday cancellation and Sunday gate closure.
See Tickets will contact attendees who are eligible for refunds, which will be processed by July 19. Attendees eligible for refunds include anyone who has not filed a dispute/chargeback or has previously received a face-value refund. Those who are eligible and had single-day passes for Friday or Sunday will receive 100% back, while anyone eligible who had a two-day or three-day ticket will receive a portion of the percentage back.
“When we first set out to bring you Electric Zoo 2023, our goal was to create a completely leveled-up experience that included new stage concepts, enhanced production, and so much more. We know we let you down,” they shared in their Instagram post. “As we continue forward, we will work every day to earn back your trust and forgiveness.”
