Solomun’s Framework Event Moved to Exposition Park in LA

Resistance from Oxnard officials has forced Framework to relocate Solomun’s June event to Exposition Park in South Los Angeles.

Well, you can’t win ’em all. Framework is acutely aware of this, as pushback from Oxnard, California officials has forced it to relocate its June 1 event headlined by Solomun from the Mandalay Generating Station. It will now take place on the same date at Exposition Park in the southern area of Los Angeles.

Framework didn’t pull any punches in their statement. “Despite our comprehensive preparations to meet all city requirements — from thorough risk mitigation strategies to safeguard local wildlife, to comprehensive emergency exit, medical, and traffic plans, all vetted and approved by top industry experts — it became clear that our vision for innovative and safe events does not align with the current policies of Oxnard officials,” it reads.

The statement continues: “After providing them with numerous amendments to accommodate their excessive requests, it had become evident that Oxnard officials were simply not in the business of welcoming our event and our community to their city, regardless of our proven track record of building safe and unprecedented experiences throughout the entire region and across the globe.”

Now joining Solomun on the lineup are local artists Nala and Julia Sandstorm. The man himself is still slated to play a six-hour extended set undoubtedly loaded with recent releases like his remixes of “Call” by Kasabian and “House” by London Grammar, not to mention IDs that have yet to officially come out.

Framework has made refunds available to ticket holders who can’t make it to Exposition Park instead of the Mandalay Generating Station. More information is available on the Framework event page.
