Porter Robinson Announces Release Date for Third Album

**Porter Robinson’s SMILE! :D is due out on July 26. The beloved artist claims it’s his “most fun and maybe most heartbreaking album.”**

From dubstep and progressive house to hard dance and pop, Porter Robinson has seemingly done it all over the course of his career. Albums like Worlds and Nurture only further proved the dynamic nature of the soundscapes he produces, while his hit tracks “Language,” “Shelter” with Madeon, and more continue to power forward in performances. This year has already seen plenty of activity from Porter Robinson as he began to tease that his third album would be arriving and let everyone know he’d be exploring his pop-fueled side a bit more with its lead single “Cheerleader.”

Since the release of “Cheerleader,” Porter Robinson has leaned into social media by sharing plenty of memes and more, but today, he dropped some major news – the album’s title and release date. His third studio album will be called SMILE! :D, and is set to arrive on July 26, just over a week after his birthday this summer.

“The album that I was trying to write was this nonstop party – No sincerity, all fun, an album that revels in absurdity for a world that rejects context. And that was the plan until I accidentally started confessing how I was really feeling, and… you’ll hear the rest,” Porter Robinson said about SMILE :D in a post on social media. “My most fun, and maybe my most heartbreaking album.”

A tracklist for SMILE :D is yet to surface, although it will surely include the previously released single “Cheerleader” and his upcoming single, “KNOCK YOURSELF OUT XD,” which is due out on April 24. The latter of those two was teased via a quick clip highlighting lyrics that say, “Don’t know my schedule on the fifth, bitch I’m Taylor Swift, I got a hundred million on my wrist, physically sick,” as Porter attacks wacky waving arm inflatable tube men with a katana.

SMILE! :D is officially set for release on July 26. Fans can pre-save the album, or pre-order a copy on CD or Vinyl. A special deluxe box set bundle is also available which includes the vinyl along with “Cheerleader” on a 7″ single vinyl, a 12″ x 12″ album art print, lyric and photo booklet, and a custom carrying case.
