It’s getting easier and easier to visualize yourself at Movement Detroit 2024.
Each new Movement Detroit announcement makes it feel even more like festival season. At the end of February, the world-famous festival shared its 2024 lineup in full. Now, house and techno lovers planning to make the pilgrimage to Hart Plaza from May 25-27 can see the daily lineups for all six stages and all five showcases.
On the Movement Stage, the mainstage of the Paxahau-run festival set in Hart Plaza’s semicircular terrace, acts like Stacey “Hotwaxx” Hale, Dom Dolla, LP Giobbi, and Stacey Pullen will play for fans on Saturday. Sunday will see Detroit progressive figurehead Delano Smith take the stage, along with sets by Nicole Moudaber and rising talent Adiel. The festival will close out with Movement Stage sets by Juan Atkins and Moritz von Oswald as Borderlands in addition to Jaguar, Fatboy Slim and Seth Troxler.
Overlooking the Detroit River, Movement’s aptly named Waterfront Stage will offer a much different vibe. Between sets by Barclay Crenshaw and Ludacris on Saturday, Floating Points and James Blake on Sunday, and Goldie presumably closing out a timely 30 Years of Metalheadz showcase slated to take over the stage for all of Monday, it will provide a change of pace for those seeking out variety.
Metalheadz is by no means the only outfit entrusted with a stage takeover. Detroit Love and Defected Records will collaborate on a Pyramid Stage showcase on Sunday featuring sets by artists like Carl Craig, DJ Holographic, and HoneyLuv. The next day, Masters At Work will take over the Stargate Stage with a little help from the likes of Ron Trent, The Blessed Madonna, and LADYMONIX. Finally, on Sunday, DJ Minx presents House Your Life will see the rising Detroit star accompanied by artists like DJ Tennis, Honey Dijon, and Horse Meat Disco.
For techno purists, the Underground Stage‘s gravitational pull might make it hard to venture outside its concrete catacombs. Julia Govor, Speedy J, and Colin Benders will play the subterranean room on Saturday; followed by Fatima Hajji, 999999999, and Ellen Allien on Sunday; and Indira Paganotto and British Murder Boys on Monday.
Last but most certainly not least is the Detroit Stage. Motor City talent such as Aboudi Issa and Huey Mnemonic will grace its decks on Saturday before DJ Godfather and 2Lanes take over on Sunday, wrapping up with performances by Terrence Parker, DJ Cent, and John Collins on Monday.
