Glastonbury 2024 will feature dance music artists like Nia Archives, Justice, James Blake, Disclosure, Skream & Benga, and Peggy Gou.
At long last, the Glastonbury 2024 lineup has arrived. The Somerset, England festival holds a special place in the music landscape, especially in the realm of electronic music. While ticketing delays may have muddled public attitudes toward the event running from June 26-30, the artists slated to perform this year may help steer the conversation in a more positive direction.
On the electronic music front, contemporary junglist Nia Archives, Grammy-winning producer James Blake, and envelope pushers LCD Soundsystem stand out on the bill. Justice will undoubtedly play cuts off their upcoming album HYPERDRAMA, while artists like Peggy Gou, Disclosure, and London Grammar will deliver four-on-the-floor grooves for house and techno lovers in attendance.
A notable billing for those in the know is pioneering British dance music act Orbital. The duo’s 1994 Glastonbury set was broadcast on television, casting a mainstream spotlight on the UK rave phenomenon that had percolated in the years leading up to that edition of the festival. Faithless is another heritage act to appear on the bill, not to mention a b2b set between dubstep innovators Skream and Benga.
Of course, electronic music isn’t the sole focus of Glastonbury — far from it. The Glastonbury 2024 lineup also boasts superstars such as Dua Lipa, Coldplay, Burna Boy, Shania Twain, Janelle Monae, and The National.
Glastonbury has taken place annually since 1971, save for “fallow years” typically falling on five-year intervals in which the land and nearby community enjoy a break. Headliners over the years have included such historic and recognizable names as David Bowie, The Cure, and Elvis Costello.
Glastonbury’s organizers have shared that additional artists will be added to the lineup in the months leading up to the event. Register to buy tickets and find additional information on the Glastonbury website.
