The Midway in San Francisco will play host to Toxic Summer, a bass music festival organized by Insomniac and Vital Events.

If last year was any indication, Toxic Summer isn’t going anywhere. The massive curated by Vital Events and Insomniac‘s Bassrush brand was once again a resounding hit among bass music fans. As such, Toxic Summer will land at The Midway in San Francisco from July 3 and July 5 this year.

Beyond that, the organizers have shared little else with the public at the time of writing. Based on previous editions, the three-day festival will likely showcase heavy heavy trap and dubstep purpose built for festival stages. Hints of experimental bass, UK garage, and drum and bass will undoubtedly find their way into the programming as well.

Toxic Summer debuted in 2015 at DNA Lounge in San Francisco’s SoMa district. Headlined by Eptic, Habstrakt, and Funtcase, the two-day event also featured supporting acts like Dubloadz, Dack Janiels, Bommer, and Rekoil.

Toxic Summer headliners over the years have included Space Laces, Boogie T, The Widdler, Liquid Stranger, ATLiens, and Sullivan King. It has bounced between the San Jose Civic and The Midway — although Chris Archey of Olympus recently told us that he has designs on bringing it to Bill Graham Civic Auditorium one day.

For 2024, at least, Toxic Summer is staying at the Midway. Last year’s edition of the festival treated bass music lovers to performances by the likes of REAPER, Kyral, Banko, bd hbt and Wufu. Stage takeovers were a standout feature, and we expect this year to be no different.

Limited $79 presale two-day passes for Toxic Summer 2024 will go on sale at 12pm PT on Wednesday, March 6. Purchase tickets and find more information on the Toxic Summer website.
