Through an offering of community building and creative programs, Electric Forest HQ invites attendees to help shape the festival experience.
Electric Forest is a one-of-a-kind experience. Nestled among a beautiful landscape of breathtaking nature in Rothbury, Michigan, the event has rapidly grown a devoted following over the years, with tickets selling out in record time. This year, the festival will return on June 20-23, with a slew of artists like Subtronics, John Summit, Excision, Charlotte de Witte, Pretty Lights, Ludacris, Nelly Furtado, Knock2, and more set to take the stage.
Expanding beyond the music, Forest HQ offers several ways for fans to get involved in the making of the festival itself. Electric Forest’s Plug In Programs encourage attendees to convey ideas or offerings directly to the festival organizers for a chance to see their thoughts in action. With over seven programs featured on this year’s slate, there is something for every thinker, doer, and dreamer in the Forest Family.
One of these collaborative programs is the Art Installation Sponsorship Program. Now entering its 12th year, this initiative allows forest-goers to have their original works displayed in the Forest. HQ will provide funding and assistance, and anyone can apply to bring their wildest artistic creations to life.
Fans are also now able to submit their ideas for workshops and classes at The Brainery, where the Forest Family comes to learn from their fellow peers, acquire new skills, or connect with like-minded individuals. Past experiences at The Brainery have included sound healing, crafting, music instruction, comedy workshops, dance instruction, and interactive lectures, among others.
Festivalgoers can inspire change through The Wish Machine, where Electric Forest will grant one wish in exchange for a grand charitable deed or service in one’s community. Furthermore, if you’re looking to break into the world of radio, HQ is searching for aspiring radio personalities, show hosts, behind-the-scenes technicians, fan interviewers, and more via the Electric Forest Radio On Air ExtraordinAIRE Program, allowing winners the chance to work with the EF Radio team.
Many more programs have been announced in the lineup, including Chapel Parties for the People, Sticker Design Contest, Prize Cart Remix Contest, and Luminarias. Additional details on Her Forest offerings and The Discovery Project are coming soon.
Be sure to check out the full list on the Electric Forest website, stay tuned for more program details, and be mindful of submission deadlines for each initiative.
