Awakenings Announces 2024 Debut of New Festival, Upclose, Along With Full Lineup

The Awakenings Upclose 2024 lineup includes Rebekah, Ricardo Villalobos, 999999999, and Overmono.

Awakenings is a well-known feature of the techno landscape, descending upon various locations throughout the Netherlands since the event brand’s 1997 debut. After sharing the Awakenings 2024 lineup earlier in the month, organizers have now announced the debut of a more intimate concept aptly named Upclose, including the lineup for its May 18 – 19 debut edition at Spaarnwoude park.

Day one of the gathering will showcase hard techno stalwarts such as Rebekah, Héctor Oaks, and Somniac One. Accompanying them will be artists associated with the more reserved and soulful side of the genre, including Ricardo Villalobos, Donato Dozzy, and AnD. Birmingham’s famed Sandwell District collective will also have a time slot of its own, as will Chris Stussy and Locklead‘s Across Boundaries project.

Day two certainly won’t disappoint. High-octane performances by the likes of Akua, 999999999, I Hate Models, and SNTS will ensure as much, as will the comparatively accessible sounds of Nina Kraviz, Joris Voorn, Overmono, and Cybersex.

Both days boast a wealth of novel back-to-back sets. On the first day, attendees will be treated to Perc b2b Wallis, GiGi FM b2b Kangding Ray, and AMORAL b2b Beste Hira, to name a few. Standouts on the following day’s bill include Dasha Rush b2b DVS1, Colin Benders b2b Speedy J, and Ø [Phase] b2b Setaoc Mass.

“We invite you to connect closely in an intimate setting and dismantle the traditional barriers between artists and you. It’s time to meet eye to eye on the dance floor,” reads a social media post by Awakenings. “In the spirit of adventure, we push our musical boundaries and explore cutting-edge techno sounds. If you crave intense and groovy techno, the dance floor of Awakenings Upclose is where you belong.”

Tickets are now on sale for Awakenings Upclose 2024. Purchase yours and find more information on the Awakenings website.
