Nightlife in Hollywood is about to get even more electric with the grand opening of Framework’s new venue, The Spotlight.
If you thought that nightlife in Hollywood was starting to get stale, Framework is here to dash that notion. Founded by Kobi Danan, this brand has grown larger each year while spreading its reach to Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Austin, and Bali. In 2023, Framework reached its highest heights yet with a series of desert parties at Ross Thermal Airport, two massive editions of Art of the Wild, and partnered events with Goldenvoice that included Under Construction and Afterlife in Los Angeles. Now, they’ve added a new venue into the mix for their run in 2024, The Spotlight.
Kobi Danan has helped champion the nightlife revival in Hollywood with his deep-rooted passion for its vibrant history, and The Spotlight is the latest chapter in Framework’s story. Located next to the Dream Hotel, this intimate space that only holds a few hundred guests turns back time to the ’60s with its decor. This transformed space might be familiar to those who spent time at A/V Club or Avenue in years past, but its new name pays homage to one of the original gay clubs in Hollywood.
While The Spotlight might feel like a blast from the past, don’t fret about the sound because the speakers that your grandparents used won’t be found here. This venue offers a state-of-the-art sonic experience with the system featuring custom L-acoustics, and it’s been tuned to accommodate a variety of genres for the future. The Spotlight also features a custom DJ booth on hydraulics, allowing for the DJ stage setup to be transformed into one that’s ready for live performances within seconds.
The Spotlight officially opened its doors last night with the first It by Framework show featuring beloved electronic artist SG Lewis. Tonight, The Dare will bring Freakquencies to the stage, while Ahmed Spins will take over the decks on Saturday. February 1-3 will then feature Sabo on Thursday and a two-night Gospel NYC takeover on Friday and Saturday featuring DJ Tennis, Bain, Ariel Vromen, and Deroos.
