Teksupport Announces Solomun-Headlined Show at its Largest Open-Air Venue Yet

This spring, Solomun will perform at a TBA location for Teksupport’s upcoming NYC event.

New year, new Teksupport. That’s not to say the New York City event organizer is deviating from its course — just continuing to raise the bar as it always has. Teksupport has announced a Saturday, May 18 event headlined by Bosnian-German deep house staple Solomun in an open-air venue that they say is the largest they’ve ever used.

The location is still TBA, but according to an event description, it is Teksupport’s “biggest open-air dance floor to date yet.” It is said to offer full views of the New York City skyline, but the organizer has disclosed little else at the time of writing.

Teksupport eked out a niche in the Big Apple after signing an exclusive deal to bring Germany’s Time Warp event brand to the city in 2014. It is perhaps best known for booking big names in techno and house to perform at large warehouse parties in stripped-down industrial spaces. Ricardo Villalobos performed his first set in New York City thanks to Teksupport, which has also billed the likes of Peggy Gou, Adam Beyer, Nina Kraviz, Omar S, and LP Giobbi.

Thus far in 2024, the promoter has announced events headlined by such acts as Chris Stussy and KAS:ST in February, Innellea and Hot Since 82 in March; and Jamie Jones in May. After Solomun’s open-air showing later in the month, Mochakk is slated to perform at the Brooklyn Navy Yard on June 8.

Solomun himself is not only a globetrotting DJ and prolific producer but also a source of humor in techno meme groups thanks to his eccentric stage presence. Singles like “Somebody’s Story” (2008), “Friends” (2014), and “Home” (2021) have cemented him as a fixture of deep house, ensuring his music is present on dancefloors worldwide whether or not he’s the one spinning it.

Presale tickets for Teksupport’s 2024 open-air Solomun party go live at 12pm ET on January 30. Register via Audience Republic.
