GALA Festival returns to London this spring, and it’s bringing a lineup of over 60 dance music acts with it.
London dance music lovers are in for a treat come May 24 – 26. The minds behind GALA Festival have delivered the gathering’s 2024 lineup in full for its highly anticipated return to Peckham Rye Park in the southern part of the city.
No-frills electronic music features prominently on the GALA Festival 2024 lineup. DJ EZ, Folamour, and Job Jobse top the bill, but it also includes an undercard consisting of more than 60 names. Among them are jazz house duo Chaos in the CBD, queer disco house outfit Horse Meat Disco, and UK bass act Joy Orbison.
The lineup especially shines thanks to its wide variety of novel back-to-back set pairings. SHERELLE will trade off with Kode9, Eris Drew with Octo Octa, and DJ Paulette with Prosumer, just to name a few. For the old heads (and youngsters who’ve done their homework), perhaps the most exciting of them is Nightmares On Wax b2b Bradley Zero, however. The former artist made a name for himself during UK rave’s nascent era, when acid house splintered into a vivid rainbow of different styles.
GALA Festival has also named a number of partners. The 2024 event sees organizers team up with Adonis, Fémme Fraiche, and The Pickle Factory, among others.
The first edition of GALA Festival took place in 2016 and billed acts such as Crazy P, Tornado Wallace, and Desert Sound Colony for a single day of programming. It has taken place annually ever since, save for a year off in 2020 due to the COVID pandemic. When the event returned in 2021, it expanded to three days.
GALA Festival headliners over the years have included the likes of Gilles Peterson, Honey Soundsystem, Afriqua, A Guy Called Gerald, and DJ Harvey. Last year’s bill featured the likes of Donato Dozzy, The Orb, Move D, and Jennifer Loveless.
Registration is now open for GALA Festival 2024 presale tickets via the event website. A limited ticket sale will begin on Friday, January 26 at 10am GMT.
