Artists like Carl Cox, Alison Wonderland, and Liquid Stranger played Red Rocks in 2023.

Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, Colorado has drawn music lovers from across the globe who come to experience the natural amphitheater provided by its picturesque sandstone formations. In 2023 alone, Red Rocks shows have amassed attendance of 1.4 million, placing the venue at the #1 most attended outdoor venue in the US and the #4 most attended venue of any kind in the world.

This is according to Billboard‘s “2023 Year-End Boxscore Charts” roundup. Red Rocks placed at #3 in the category of “Top Venues (5,001-10k Capacity)” based on its gross sales of $103.5 million, but its attendance was higher than all but three venues across categories. Only O2 Arena in London (2.4 million tickets sold), Foro Sol Stadium in Mexico City (2 million tickets sold), and Madison Square Garden in New York (1.6 million tickets sold) beat it out. Auditorio Nacional in Mexico City almost tied with Red Rocks with 2023 attendance also totaling roughly 1.4 million.

Red Rocks Amphitheatre hosts all kinds of attractions, from rock bands to rappers to yoga sessions. It’s a favorite among fans all across the EDM spectrum for its natural acoustics. Carl Cox made his long-awaited Red Rocks debut in 2023, and Liquid Stranger hosted the first-ever Wakaan Rocks this year as well. Artists like Alison Wonderland, Big Gigantic, Nicole Moudaber, and LCD Soundsystem also made triumphant returns to Red Rocks over the past several months.

Billboard‘s “2023 Year-End Boxscore Charts” recognized Radio City Music Hall in New York as the highest-grossing venue in the “Top Venues (5,001-10k Capacity)” category at $122 million, with Madison Square Garden grossing the highest of any venue category at $223 million. The roundup also includes ticket sales data charts for artists, tours, promoters, and stadiums.
