The debut edition of EDSea clearly went off without a hitch. Insomniac’s new cruise ship festival will return in 2024.

Insomniac couldn’t even wait a full day to announce the sophomore edition of EDSea. The cruise ship festival’s debut went so swimmingly that its follow-up event was a no-brainer. EDSea 2024 will set sail from Miami to Bimini between November 2-6.

At the time of writing, organizers have yet to lock in any details of the EDSea 2024 lineup or stages. They have nonetheless teased a number of attractions and amenities ranging from gourmet meals to wellness centers, and both onboard as well as destination activities.

EDSea’s first-ever sailing embarked on November 4 and returned yesterday, November 8. Performing artists billed for the debut event included Maya Jane Coles, Louis The Child, Zeds Dead, TOKiMONSTA, Will Clarke, Seven Lions, and Lady Faith. Stages like kineticOCEAN, cosmicCORAL, and neonSPLASH took clear inspiration from Electric Daisy Carnival (EDC) stages like kineticFIELD, cosmicMEADOW, and neonGARDEN, respectively.

Insomniac started out as a SoCal warehouse party founded by Pasquale Rotella (who could be seen enjoying himself at EDSea). It soon grew to encompass a portfolio of events including Nocturnal Wonderland and EDC, the latter of which would become its flagship festival brand. EDC graced venues like Shrine EXPO Hall and NOS Events Center before arriving at its current home, the Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Since then, it has grown to include offshoot events throughout the world, the most successful of which are EDC Orlando and EDC Mexico.

EDSea may be Insomniac’s first foray into seafaring gatherings, but it takes cues from similar EDM cruise ship festivals. Groove Cruise has been running the longest, having first set sail in 2004. Gary Richards introduced the now-defunct Holy Ship! in 2012 and currently hosts the annual Friendship gatherings. The market is still anybody’s game, but it’s safe to say that EDSea is off to a promising start.

EDSea 2024 attendees get first access to cabins starting tomorrow, Friday, November 10. General presale starts on November 15. Find more information on the EDSea website.
