One month after Kaskade Christmas Volume 2 hits streaming services, the Orpheum Theatre in LA will host an event of its namesake.
Yesterday, Kaskade shared plans to release a follow-up to his 2017 yuletide-themed album. Kaskade Christmas Volume 2 arrives on November 17th, but the holiday cheer doesn’t stop there. Slated for December 20 is a full-on event called Kaskade Christmas at the Orpheum Theatre in Los Angeles headlined by the globetrotting DJ and producer himself.
Kaskade (real name Ryan Raddon) will, of course, perform cuts from his two Christmas albums. That’s not all, though. He’s enlisted an assortment of musicians to make the occasion more memorable than a regular, old DJ set. “Join me as I perform my Christmas music for the first time ever, with live vocalists and a full band,” reads an event description. “This is going to be special!“
Born and raised in Chicago, Raddon came up on the soulful brand of house music to which he’s returned in recent years following an extended foray into more festival-oriented EDM sounds. He moved to San Francisco in 2000 and worked as an A&R for OM Records. Albums like In The Moment and Love Mysterious established him as a recording artist in the 2000s, but it was his deadmau5 collaborations “Move for Me” and “I Remember” that catapulted him into commercial success.
While Raddon’s focus may have temporarily shifted, he still continued to release deep house — most notably through his REDUX EPs The series is still going; its 6th installment just released last month. He also returns to the studio with deadmau5 fairly often. The two released a self-titled album under their Kx5 project in March of this year.
Kaskade Christmas takes place at the Orpheum Theatre in Los Angeles on December 20. Tickets go on sale via the Kaskade website on November 17, the same day Kaskade Christmas Volume 2 arrives.
