Get Freaky is moving locations for their upcoming edition to the Utah State Fairpark due to a main water line issue at The Great Saltair.

Dance music lovers from all walks of life are getting ready to celebrate the spookiest of holidays, Halloween. To the delight of ravers in Utah, this year will see the return of V2 Presents‘ Get Freaky, set to provide three days of fun on October 27-29 with artists like Feed Me, NERO, Alison Wonderland, and more on the lineup. But while The Great Saltair has been their usual home for the festival’s near-two-decade run, the upcoming edition has faced an issue forcing them to relocate to a new venue.

Today, V2 Presents announced that Get Freaky will be relocating from The Great Saltair to the Utah State Fairpark due to a break in the main water line that has temporarily deemed the previous venue unsuitable for use. “While we bid a temporary farewell to a venue that has lovingly hosted 17 Get Freaky festivals, we’re stepping into this new venue with optimism and energy,” the statement posted to the festival’s social media pages reads. “The vibe, the music, and the community will remain as vibrant as ever.”

After many meetings, phone calls, discussions, and exploring several options for venue alternatives around the city – it became apparent that the Utah State Fairpark is the best option for attendees, artists, and staff. The decision was grounded in our dedication to ensuring an unparalleled experience for our attendees and artists, as well as a necessary decision to ensure Get Freaky 2023 is able to take place. We regret any inconvenience this transition might pose and assure you that our commitment remains unchanged. Let us embrace this change together and look forward to an even more exhilarating Get Freaky at the Utah State Fairpark.

V2 Presents has noted that the Utah State Fairpark is a more centralized location in Salt Lake Valley, with ample parking, rideshare, and public transportation access. The new venue will also offer additional amenities, from food vendors to more restrooms. The biggest change beyond the venue is the hours that Get Freaky will run, with Friday being hosted from 4pm to 11pm and Saturday and Sunday running from 4pm to 10pm.

All tickets purchased for Get Freaky are still valid at the new venue, so no action will be required from attendees. Official after-parties will be announced in the coming days. Stay tuned for additional updates on the upcoming edition of Get Freaky!
