Ocaso Festival will expand from four days to five for its first year at The Bohemian Lagarto in 2024.
Nearly seven years have passed since Ocaso Festival debuted. The 2024 edition, which now runs from January 4-8 in Costa Rica‘s Guanacaste region (where events like Labryinto also now take place), marks an important year for the house and techno gathering. For the first time in its history, it will take place for five consecutive days — the last of which will be a special decompression event in its previous home of Tamarindo.
Among the more prominent names on the 2024 Ocaso bill are Sama’ Abdulhadi, John Summit, Hannah Wants, and Mind Against. Supporting them are promising locals like Diana Vasquez, Graci Martinez, Congatronica, and Le Roi Carmona. Immersive stage designs and picturesque surroundings are equally crucial components of the vibe, however. By now, the festival’s organizers have got the formula down pat.
Ocaso Festival started out as a free party in Tamarindo when it first kicked off in 2017. After an ambitious debut year that featured sets by the likes of Cristoph, Art Department, Hot Since 82, and Lee Burridge, it regrouped and refocused with a sophomore event that billed the likes of Carlo Lio, Claptone, and Rodriguez Jr. Lineups for subsequent editions have included names like Solomun, Adriatique, Michael Bibi, Bob Moses, and Fideles.
Festival organizers also now offer special deals on shuttles, VIP backstage passes, table service, villas, and a host of other accomodations. The 2024 event will include upgraded food and beverage offerings as well as additional opportunities to explore nearby wildlife, including rainforests and beaches.
