Portola Festival might be the grand prize, but the shows happening during Portola Week are just as impressive for dance music lovers.
There’s just over a month to go until dance music lovers from all walks of life make their trek to San Francisco to experience all that Portola Festival has to offer this year. Hosted by Goldenvoice, this unique experience at Pier 80 is gearing up to be another fantastic weekend for its sophomore edition on September 30 – October 1, and the massive lineup that was unveiled earlier this year only further solidified that point. Just days ago, Portola Festival revealed their set times and daily lineups to satiate fans’ cravings further, but today something else exciting just dropped, the Portola Week shows.
That’s right, Portola Festival isn’t just about the main event on the weekend, as the parties at venues throughout SF will be bumping with beats during Portola Week. The festivities officially kick off on September 21 when Röyksopp takes over The Warfield. Six nights later will see the next show at that venue featuring Weyes Blood and Lael Neale, but that’s just the start.
The Midway will bring Purple Disco Machine and Chromeo to the stage on September 29, a Ninja Tune After Party with Bonobo and more on September 30, and an epic b2b featuring JYOTY and Skrillex on October 1. Artists like Jai Paul and Masego will headline The Regency Ballroom on September 29 and 30, respectively, while the sole show at Audio will bring Chris Lake to the stage on September 30.
Other standout artists set to perform throughout the weekend include Jon Hopkins, Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs, Kavinsky, and Myd at Gray Area, and Salute, Yung Singh, Baalti, 2manydjs, and Werd DJs at Monarch. And if you want to keep the vibes alive on October 2, then head to San Jose Civic to catch Thundercat perform. Check out the full list of shows below!
The pre-sale for the shows during Portola Week kicks off on Monday, August 28 at 12pm PT. Pre-sale access will be granted to those who have purchased passes to the main festival, so make sure you lock in your tickets by Saturday, August 26 at 11:59pm PT to receive the secret passcode.
