IT HZ Drops Off A Mixtape Ahead Of HARD Summer LA 2023

Chee and Jon Casey are bringing their IT HZ project to HARD Summer and are giving everyone a taste of what’s in store with an ID-filled mix.

In just a few short weeks, HARD Summer is taking over its new home of Los Angeles for another epic year filled with a diverse lineup. Set to take place on August 5-6, festival goers will spread between LA Memorial Coliseum, Exposition Park, and BMO Stadium for two nights of music madness from its jaw-dropping lineup. Joining in the madness, two forces in the underground bass world, Jon Casey and Chee, will be taking the stage as their duo project IT HZ.

Through a blend of halftime breakbeats and dark bass tracks like their latest release, “Pikachu,” the two South African producers have caught the audience’s attention, landing them on several big-name lineups. Earlier this year, they were seen ripping up the stage at Okeechobee and Wobble Rocks, and now, IT HZ is headed to Southern California to soak up the summer sun and blow crowds away at HARD Summer.

Ahead of their set at the festival, IT HZ is giving fans a sneak peek into what they can expect to hear with their entry in the HARD Summer LA 2023 Official Mixtape Series. The mix incorporates both of their styles into a body of work that encompasses hard-hitting synths and bass as the duo runs through an impressive number of IDs while also layering in tracks like Chee’s “The Wisp Song,” “Turn Up,” and “Spangled.”

I think us being the only South African bass duo is important! We’re putting bass music on the Map for South Africa. We’re working on new music so keep an eye out for that. And how it’s such an honour to be working with the HARD fam to bring you this special mix. Also very excited to be playing HARD in LA.
