Travel Down Under By Listening to BADVOID

Brisbane-based DJ and producer BADVOID spins up a mix that’s teeming with tunes to energize your mind and get you through the week.

Artists who call Australia home continue to make some major waves in the scene with their releases that captivate audiences around the world. While plenty of house and bass has surfaced from the island nation, other genres such as hard dance, indie electronic, trance, and more have also emerged as well. One artist who is currently rising through the ranks with his own dynamic blend of sounds is Brisbane-based producer BADVOID.

Formerly known as Notorious CHRIS, BADVOID flipped the script with his futuristic blend of sonic elements when crafting up this new era of his career – and he hasn’t left listeners disappointed. Inspired by the likes of REAPER and Justin Hawkes, his previous releases featured a hefty offering of midtempo and electro influence while he roared into the new year by dominating speakers with some drum and bass.

“The local scene in Brisbane is thriving right now after the long periods of lockdowns and nightclub/festival closures,” BADVOID said when asked about the state of his local scene. “The lockdowns allowed me to spend the past two years polishing my sound as well as switching up my music to drum & bass.” The result of that time spent in lockdown was realized when he dropped an absolute heater of a drum and bass tune, “POISON” with OLSO, on Kayzo’s Welcome Records.

“POISON” is a fiery tune that will immediately energize the mind, body, and soul of anyone who listens with OLSO adding in an extra punch. To celebrate its release and further showcase his curation abilities as a DJ, BADVOID spun up a mix that is filled to the brim with his own originals and flips, along with selections from Jiqui, REAPER, Dimension, and more.

Listen to this exclusive mix from BADVOID to get a taste of the sounds from Brisbane and stay tuned for more to come from this rising star in the scene by following him on social media.
