Celebrate the Grammy-nominated songs for Best Dance Recording by watching episodes of the global Under The Covers series.
Since first arriving on the scene, Matt Orlove has curated renowned event parties such as Daft Brunch, Wicked Paradise, Panic in LA, and Dreamboat, to name a few through Orlove Entertainment. But as shows were put on pause in 2020 due to the ongoing pandemic, much like the rest of the industry he had to adapt to face the challenges in front of him and launched Under The Covers as the result.
Over the past year, Under The Covers has featured artists from around the globe who have put their spin on some of the biggest songs in the scene. So, as the 2021 edition of the Grammys arrives on the horizon, the series is celebrating in style. Ahead of the Sunday award show, they’ve highlighted covers that were created for songs nominated for the Best Dance Recording.

The first video is from French artists Gapsar and Wonderomaane who cover Kaytranada and Kali Uchis’ “10%.”
The new visuals for “10%” from Gapsar and Wonderomaane keep the mystery from the original by Kaytranada and Kali Uchis alive as the beats are carried along through the rhythm. The cutaways allow us to dive deeper into the track as we are introduced to a matrix of cutting-edge sound design to create a unique listening experience. Watch it on YouTube.
Up next artist Zepha covers Disclosure ft Aminé & Slowthai with “My High.” The visuals are electrifying and match the buzzing energy of the song, while the visuals are a kaleidoscope of fun that will have you dancing away to the beat. Speaking about covering this massive tune from Disclosure, Zepha said “Digging into the depths of the amazing production, Disclosure are responsible for is inspiring in itself and gives an artist like myself a benchmark to strive towards.”
Cooling down the mix, Melchior Sultana and Janelle Puol cover Jayda G’s “Both of Us.”
Maltese artists Melchior Sultana and Janelle Puol deliver a soulful take of Jayda G’s “Both of Us” by optimizing calming vocals, sampled hi-hats, and deep basslines that carry us through the progression. The visuals have a layered opacity that brings us to a place where we can easily call home while the long cascading chord progressions and synths leads listeners into bliss. Check it out on YouTube.
As we continue through the covers, MITYA, an artist from Russia, put Flume and Toro y Moi’s “The Difference.” It evokes imagery of an intense, upbeat, mind-bending maze that will further amplify the intrinsic lyrics. “I’ve been listening to Toro Y Moi since I started making music, Chaz’s courage to change his music directions is so inspiring,” said MITYA. “Flume’s production and his whole story, in general, are fire and super moving. That’s why their collab worked so well. That’s why I wanted to cover this banger!” Watch it now on YouTube.
To finish off the list New York-based artist N2N and Hunnybao decided to put their spin on Diplo and SIDEPIECE’s “On My Mind.” Hunnybao whisps off the cobwebs of our soul while N2N layers in plenty of relaxing beats for listeners to soak in. N2N took a lot of pride in creating this one as his own history is rooted in listening to covers and playing around with tracks in Ableton.
“I work with samples all the time, and Diplo & Sidepiece chose a killer sample for this record… I mean you can’t deny Missy Elliot,” he said. “As soon as this project was floated to me, I knew exactly how I wanted to flip it, and hopefully the end result is a reflection of the fun we had creating it.”
