Champagne Drip is back with a deep and dark wobble-slinger of a tune, “Satellite,” within his new EP.
Last summer, Champagne Drip took the freeform community by surprise with Obelisk, a four-track EP that ripped and snarled through a multitude of experimental bass waves. After pulverizing our vertebrae with “Nerf This,” decimating soundscapes with “Argent Energy,” carrying us through space with “The Portal,” and rearranging our psyches with “Axis Mundi,” the LA-based producer is back with the bass in “Satellite” featuring Len X. The track is one of four on Champagne Drip’s new EP titled Starman.
If you’re familiar with the WAKAAN artist, you’ll notice “Satellite” combines several of his trademark sounds. Fusing whimsical basslines together with vibrational hums and cosmic blips, “Satellite” is a fantastical journey through time and space. If Champagne Drip is just now landing on your radar, you’re in for a treat. Given the release of his highly-anticipated EP, 2019 is bound to be a big year for the producer.

2018 was quite the year for Sam Pool, otherwise known as Champagne Drip. Having released three EPs on WAKAAN, Bassrush Records, and Deadbeats, this multifaceted producer continues to showcase his wickedly diverse style. Within layers of unforgiving whomps and aggravated synths are intricately-crafted multiverses of buttery melodies and wonky sonic planes.
Deservingly so, Champagne Drip has already found himself alongside some of the largest names in bass. The producer is currently accompanying WAKAAN founder Liquid Stranger on his INFINITY tour – and that pair is not one to miss. His tunes have garnered support from artists all across the world, with “Oni” being a popular crowd-pleaser at nearly every heavy bass event. Hardcore bassheads and headbangers alike will inevitably find themselves vibing out to Champagne Drip in 2019, and we can’t wait to see what else he comes up with this year.
“With Starman I wanted to create a more diverse record. In ‘The Sentinel’ and ‘Soundboy Dead’ I explore visceral sub driven depths. To me they almost sound like some sort of communication from an ancient presence, tapping into something deep, internal and mystical. In ‘Kaleidoscope’ and ‘Satellite’ I went into lighter more spacious psychedelia.
Each track was started during a different time of inspiration so they all come from a different place. It was really exciting pulling these together and making something cohesive.”
