What was your first electronic music event?
Lucidity Festival: Crossroads. I was immersed straight into this amazing place of acceptance and spiritual growth. I was totally allowed to be happy and be myself, allowing others the space they needed to be their most “awesomest” self.
What/who influenced you to attend your first event?
My fiance Hoop Darling was working with the Hoop Unit, and luckily I got to tag along. We were totally unprepared! We had nothing but snacks, and absolutely no flashlights. Luckily our new family helped us out with everything we needed, including good healthy food and flashlights. They made sure that all of our needs were taken care of, when we didn’t know how to do things ourselves. It was so amazing to be radically included and loved.
What is one moment from an event that was special and why?
Going to Burning Man and touching hands with my fiancee across the bars of the “Inner Child” art piece. As we touched hands, I feel an energy I had never felt before, it was renewed love. Somehow the personification of old fights, melted away as we let our inner children touch hands with fresh eyes for the first time.We stood there for a while, palms pressed together, and when we let go, all of the past was washed away.
What is your favorite festival or event?
Burning Man! It’s the world’s biggest playground for adults with a focus on growth and community. The ultimate freedom experienced there is almost hard to come back from. I spent two years practicing with conclave to spin in front of the Man, what an incredible experience!
What is your favorite electronic song and why?
Diplo’s “Revolution” makes me bounce of the walls! It was the first song I had choreographed all by myself for a conclave fundraiser.
Who are your favorite artists?
Diplo, Blackmill, Crywolf, Kaminanda, Spaceship Earth. I love setting mixes between those artists and allowing myself to flow freely.
What are your favorite genres?
Anything that gets me dancing. Good vocals and a dirty drop are a good way to get me on the dance floor.
What do you feel your “Identity” is in the electronic music community?
To hold space for people to be themselves. Holding free community flow jams, I love to bring new people into this exciting new world.
Is there anything else you would like to add about yourself for the readers?
Catch me around town at the local flow jams and playing with Circus Mafia at local events!
