What was your first electronic music event?
Tiësto in 2006 in LA at Avalon.
What/who influenced you to attend your first event?
I’ve always loved dance music for as long as I can remember but was never old enough to attend shows at the time. I ended up lucking out when my uncle got hired on as private security for events in LA, and he had to take me with him to shows a few times and I got to embrace it all for what it was.
What is one moment from an event that was special and why?
Definitely my time at Dreamstate. It was the first festival of its kind, and we had such an amazing group holding it down in California that weekend. We all flew from our homes in KC, Dallas, Denver, and even Hawaii to spend time together and dance to music we all love. That was the best musical and festival experience to date. I can’t wait until next year!
What is your favorite festival or event?
Dreamstate SoCal! Trance has my heart and that was an incredible experience.
What is your favorite electronic song and why?
If I had to pick one song, it would be Sunset Boulevard by Alex M.O.R.P.H. The melody and lyrics are so beautiful, I get goosebumps every single time I hear it. I remember singing it at the top of my lungs when I heard it live a few weeks back when I saw Alex in Denver.
Who are your favorite artists?
Definitely Ben Nicky, Bryan Kearney, Astrix, Aly & Fila, and JoC.
What are your favorite genres?
Trance, trance, and more trance. I especially love psy, tech, and uplifting.
What do you feel your “Identity” is in the electronic music community?
My identity is someone who is as passionate about music as I am with my work. It’s something that I utilize every single day.
