As you know Dirtybird is the word and for those of you joining me at Dirtybird Campout, it is fast approaching! So in case you missed it or feel like you’re unprepared for the trip, here are 10 Need-To-Know Items Before Departing originally posted by Dirtybird Campout!
3 Day Passes & Sunday Passes are still available at http://www.eventbrite.com/e/dirtybird-campout-tickets-17666026561! :)
1. Picking Up Your Wristbands
Everyone will need to stop at the on-site box office upon arrival to pick up their wristbands, vehicle passes, and BBQ vouchers. Festival passes and BBQ tickets will also be available for purchase.
Please be sure to have the following upon arriving at the box office:
Printed ticket – please have your ticket printed out and ready when you arrive. The name on your ticket isn’t required to match your ID, however ticket barcodes only scan once and after that can no longer be used to get a wristband. We always recommend purchasing tickets from our approved ticketing outlet: http://dirtybirdcampout.eventbrite.com
Government Issued ID – The Dirtybird Campout is a 21+ event. PLEASE bring your California or government issued ID, as it is required to receive your wristband. No ifs, ands or buts – sorry kids!
After The Box Office…
Keep Your Wristband On At All Times – Everyone in your vehicle must have a wristband properly applied on their RIGHT wrist prior to arriving. You will not be allowed onto the festival entrance road without your wristband properly applied to your wrist.
Pre-purchased BBQ Ticket Holders – You will receive your BBQ voucher(s) when you pick up your wristband at the Box Office. These will be your entry way into the BBQ so be sure to keep them in a safe place where you won’t misplace them.
*Treat your vouchers like CASH. In the case of loss/theft or damage your vouchers will NOT be replaced.
2. Open Flames
Due to the CA state drought / high fire risk all open flame including campfires, charcoal grills, propane stoves and lanterns are not allowed at Dirtybird Campout. The Official BBQ’s will take place on Saturday and Sunday, and there will also be several delicious food vendors onsite to keep you fueled and fed. Thanks for your cooperation and understanding!
3. No In’s and Out’s For Car Campers
Car camping vehicles are not permitted to drive in and out of the festival once they’ve entered the campgrounds. Upon exiting the campgrounds, car camping passes will be removed by campground staff. If you need to leave the festival early, but plan to return, please park in the general parking lots for easy, painless departures.
4. You Are Responsible For Taking Your Trash Home
Dirtybird Campout is a “Leave it Better, Leave it Beautiful” event. All campers MUST TAKE THEIR CAMPSITE’S TRASH OUT WITH THEM WHEN THEY LEAVE. This isn’t the kind of festival where you trash the place and rely on festival staff to pick it up for you. Monitoring and reducing waste creates awareness and encourages us to take care of the communities we live in and the planet we live on. The best way to do this is to plan ahead and bring as little trash as possible.
5. Cash Only
Showers, merch booth, food, vendors, bars—EVERYTHING—is cash only. There will be ATMs on site.
6. Limited Cell Service
See the festival map HERE.
7. Free Water
In an effort to reduce the amount of plastic waste at Dirtybird Campout, we will not be
selling individual water bottles within or around the festival. Instead there will be several filtered water stations located throughout the grounds where you can refill your reusable bottles and canteens.
Don’t have a reusable bottle or canteen? Pre-order your official Dirtybird Campout water bottle HERE and pick it up at the merch booth upon arrival!
8. Protect Yourself Against the Elements
Temperatures are projected to be in the high 80’s during the day and the possibility of rain is growing. This event will go on rain or shine, so we advise camps come prepared with EZ Ups, shade structures, and waterproof tarps for optimal comfort and sleep time. Don’t forget hats, sunglasses and your sunblock either!
9. Campground Showers
Cost – $7 cash only please & Hours:
Saturday – 7am – 7pm
Sunday – 7am – 7pm
Monday – 7am – 12pm
10. Exiting Dirtybird Campout
