Life Is Beautiful 2015 || Zach’s Top 10 Non-EDM Must See Artists

Life is Beautiful always puts together a diverse line up of artists. Each year it seems the lineup gets better than the previous year’s and 2015 is no different. With all the great artists on this year’s lineup it was hard to narrow down a top 10, but here are my top 10 non EDM artist to see for 2015:

  1. Kendrick Lamar: Fresh off 2 Grammys and an Outside Land’s performance Kendrick’s set is bound to be one of the most high energy crowds of the weekend. Kendrick has undoubtedly taken the hip hop scene by storm and his live performances are one of a kind. His last two albums have been two of my favorite rap albums in recent years. I am really looking forward to his performances of King Kunta and I which are sure to make the whole crowd go crazy.

  1. Stevie Wonder: Stevie Wonder is bringing his soulful voice and classic sound to Downtown Las Vegas and I could not be any more excited. It is not very often you have the opportunity to see such an iconic artist at an event like this. With the Friday night headlining spot, Stevie Wonder will be the perfect way to close out the first night of the weekend.

  1. Twenty One Pilots: Based out of Columbus, Ohio, Twenty One Pilots have burst onto the scene with their unique blend of genres. After a memorable Lollapalooza performance this year Twenty One Pilots will bring their unparalleled energy to Downtown Las Vegas. After finding out about them earlier this year I have been listening to their songs Car Radio, Heavydirtysoul, and Stressed Out on repeat. I cannot wait to see their live performance.

  1. Brandon Flowers: Brandon Flowers, frontman of the Killers, has been producing music for his solo career since 2010. With singles such as Crossfire and Can’t Deny My Love this Nevada native artist is sure to perform a set to remember…And, who knows, maybe we will get a few Killers songs.

  1. Glass Animals: The English indie rock band released their debut album, Zaba, in June 2014 and have toured around the world since. Even after seeing them 3 times this year they easily make it into my top ten. Most known for their song Gooey you will definitely be feeling the peanut butter vibes on Saturday.

  1. Walk The Moon: Walk the Moon brings a ton of energy to their live shows. With the release of their new album and popular songs such as Shut Up and Dance and Anna Sun I promise you won’t stop dancing this entire set.

  1. Atmosphere: There is nothing better than seeing a group of artists do what they do best. Slug and Ant have been making music as Atmosphere since 1989. They are veterans of the underground hip hop scene and know how to work the crowd. With more than a handful of well-known songs the crowd will definitely be singing and rapping along to Sunshine and God Loves Ugly.

  1. Rebelution: Life is Beautiful has enlisted a very diverse collection of artists and Rebelution is my number one reggae rock artist to see. There are few artists that sound better live than on their record, but Rebelution is one of them. I have been listening to Rebelution for a long time and I cannot wait to hear all the songs that will bring back fond high school memories.

  1. Saint Motel: Although billed lower the artists listed above Saint Motel will be a great way to kick off Sunday. With their indie rock energy and catchy trumpet bars this is one of the early sets you cannot miss. This will be one of the groups that fly under the radar and will for sure cause a bit of FOMO or festival remorse if you miss this set.

  1. Big Data: Also billed lower than a lot of this top 10, Big Data already have a handful of big festivals and concerts under their belt. Most known for their popular collaboration with Joywave, Dangerous, Big Data is also one of the groups that will fly under the radar. With an anticipated early set on Saturday it will be important to get to the festival early.

Zachary Lefevre

Zachary Lefevre has been listening to electronic music since the early 2000s. Although his first live show was underground hip-hop, he began listening to a variety of different genres and found his niche within electronic community. After attending more concerts and festivals, Zachary was seeking out a platform that would allow him to express his passion and love for live music and share it with friends, family, and the world. Having always been an avid writer he began to combine the two arts and shortly after writing his first article Zachary became part of the EDM Identity team in August 2015.
