New additions to this year’s festival include:
- Eight Brand New Stage Designs:
All eight of this year’s stages will feature new production and designs never before seen at EDC Las Vegas. Owls will again play a prominent role at the always-impressive kineticFIELD, and the story of the owl community will continue to evolve. Whereas last year’s cathedral was a shrine built to honor the sentiment of music as religion, this year’s narrative seeks to bring Headliners deeper into the kinetic world by introducing them to the Crystal Village. This year, between each DJ set, the mayor of the owl community will appear and take charge of the biggest celebration seen in thousands of years in the Crystal Village. He will release crystals to the audience, each containing the power of earth, fire, water and air. This integration of nature into the technological spectacle is a longstanding goal of EDC that was first established with the creation of the daisy symbol.
In addition to larger-than-life scenic elements and production stages full of state-of-the-art lighting and pyrotechnics, The Funk House—a colorful, 360-degree structure built entirely out of reclaimed and recycled materials—will debut at EDC Las Vegas for the first time. This environmentally friendly stage will feature a soundtrack of funk, disco, rare groove, soul, and classic hip-hop, giving fans a taste of the past with a healthy dose of future funk.
- Carnival Square:
The EDC experience is about the culture and bringing our community together. Set right in the middle of the festival grounds, the new Carnival Square is the ideal meet-up spot. With easy access points, the one-stop shop features seating, food and beverage vendors, merchandise booths, a general store, meet-and-greets, lineup information, a video confessional booth, picturesque photo opportunities, lost and found and more!
- Marquee SkyDeck at EDC:
EDC’s cabana space, now known as the Marquee SkyDeck, allows Headliners to absorb the festival culture and booming sounds from their exclusive perch facing kineticFIELD. The Marquee SkyDeck is an open-air nightclub complete with high-end décor, bars and more. In 2015, we’re taking our table service offerings to another level by offering a private table at the usually off-limits “Front of House” right in the middle of all the action. For information on reservations, please email [email protected]. And while we’re talking about the SkyDeck, here’s something else new and exciting:
- Design Your Own Cabana at the Marquee SkyDeck:
If you’ve ever thought that you have a flair for design, or you’d like your private entertaining space to stand out from the crowd, Insomniac invites you to put your personal touch on the festival by customizing your cabana space inside the Marquee SkyDeck at EDC. Just let our creative department know which theme you want and your cabana will be transformed into the ultimate EDC fantasy, complete with couches, tables and other décor to match. A number of themes including Safari, Austin Powers, Man Cave, Rock n’ Roll, Midsummer Night and more are available to select from. Email [email protected] for details and reservations.
- Art:
An incredible assortment of projects are making their EDC Vegas debut this year. Artist Gerard Minakawa will create Palace Blue, a colonnade of bamboo-forged columns with a vaulted roof and a central structure inspired by the Hagia Sophia cathedral in Istanbul. Building this impressive structure will require about 20 tons of materials, including about 500 bamboo poles, steel, wood and fabric.
- Exciting New Food Trucks:
When it comes to your food options at EDC Las Vegas, we want to make sure there’s something tasty for everyone. From festival classics like pizza and burgers, to health conscious offerings like organic foods and Maine lobster, EDC is excited to welcome a number of new food trucks to our already impressive lineup of food offerings. New this year are:
- Cousins Maine Lobster
- 50 Shades of Green (organic food items)
- Señor Blues (Tex-Mex)
- Baby’s Badass Burgers (gourmet burgers)
- Oming’s Kitchen (Vietnamese)
- Bowl of Heaven (yogurt parfait)
- Urban Pie (gourmet wood oven burning pizza)
- The Terrace at kineticFIELD:
Once known as the “Dining Deck,” EDC’s upscale restaurant has a new name and a tasty new menu guaranteed to delight your taste buds. The menu at The Terrace at kineticFIELD has been carefully curated by Chef Keven Alan Lee, Executive Chef and CEO of My World on a Plate. A sample of the delectable dishes that will be available include the Spicy Tuna Electro Roll (a crusted, multi-color spicy tuna roll, sweet tamari glaze, summer greens and ginger dressing), Hypnotic Tacos (P-30 glazed chicken, cloud taco shells, rainbow vegetable slaw) and THE BOMB S’mores (loaded and torched marshmallow, cookies, dripping chocolate and caramel atop a scoop of vanilla ice cream). The 3-course seated dinner is $140 per person and the 3-day VIP café meal is $88. For more information or to purchase tickets please visit here.
- Take a Load off at Chill Spots:
Looking for a place to hang out, rest your feet, and take in the sights of EDC Las Vegas? Festivalgoers can soak up the EDC culture and environment with the addition of more Chill Spots located throughout the festival grounds. These relaxing environments will include benches set beneath LED trees and other creative elements that allow fans to take a break between their favorite sets.
- EDC Fashion:
Insomniac is introducing new merchandise designs exclusive to EDC Las Vegas for Headliners to purchase. New designs will now be available in VIP areas as well as additional merchandise booths that have been added to the festival grounds. During EDC Week, merchandise can now be purchased throughout the Las Vegas Strip at participating hotel properties, including the Wynn and Encore, with more to be announced soon. There’s no better way to memorialize your EDC experience.
- New VIP Viewing Deck at cosmicMEADOW:
Headliners looking for the ultimate spot at the cosmicMEADOW stage can now enjoy an exciting new addition to the popular area—a VIP viewing area where the sights and sounds of the festival are yours to take in.
