EDMbiz Conference & Expo, electronic dance music’s premiere industry event, returns for its fourth year to The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas Tuesday, June 16 through Thursday, June 18. The music world’s biggest and brightest minds will attend the three-day conference featuring keynote presentations, networking events and panel discussions.

EDMbiz 2015 is set to unveil two new initiatives focused on discovering and promoting emerging talent with new artist showcase opportunities:

EDMbiz Startup Contest – An opportunity for five promising startups to present to high-level investors and executives. Applicants will be vetted by Insomniac and their partner in this contest, Digital Music News, and five finalists will be announced in early June. Then, at EDMbiz, A-list venture capital investors will be on-hand, alongside other music industry executives, to select the most impressive startup. A broad range of innovative ideas and models will be considered, spanning digital to mobile to physical to live (and everything in between). Judges will carefully consider the business proposition based equally on presentation, understanding of market trend opportunity, innovation, and potential to disrupt. Presentations will be limited to five minutes each, plus a brief Q&A from the panelists and investors. The deadline for entries is June 2, 2015 (11:59 p.m. Pacific Time). Interested startups should enter at http://www.edmbiz.com/startup, and start preparing the deck of their lives!

Best Record/A&R Contest – EDMbiz, Wavo and Insomniac Records are teaming up to jumpstart one lucky artist’s career at this year’s conference and expo. Aspiring artists can submit their original tracks online, which will under-go crowd source voting prior to being judged by EDMbiz’s group of illustrious judges. Then the top point-earners/semi-finalists will be invited to present their track live at EDMbiz to a panel of senior A&R executives from the industry’s best record labels. One lucky winner will have his/her track released by Insomniac Records. The deadline for entries is May 31, 2015 (11:59 PM Pacific Time). Crowd sourced voting period on Wavo begins at 12:00 AM Pacific Time on June 1, 2015 and ends at 5:00 PM Pacific Time on June 5, 2015 on Wavo.me. This will be followed by the EDMBiz judging period beginning at 5:01 PM Pacific Time on June 5, 2015 and ending at 12:00 PM Pacific Time on June 6, 2015. Interested contestants can visit http://www.edmbiz.com/ar.
“We’re looking forward to the unique and exciting elements these new competitions will bring to the conference,” said Pasquale Rotella, founder and CEO of Insomniac. “This is our chance to connect industry leaders with true talent and continue to advance the dance music world.”
To kick-off this year’s event, Las Vegas’ newest club, Omnia, will host the official EDMbiz kick-off party at 10:30 PM on June 16 featuring Afrojack. All badge holders will have expedited entry through a dedicated line and receive complimentary entry before midnight. The Closing Night Party for EDMbiz will take place Thursday, June 18 at the Boulevard Pool at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas. With Alesso set to DJ, doors will open at 8:00 PM and EDMbiz badge holders get in free before 9:00 PM.

Attendees at EDMbiz 2015 will also have access to Insomniac nightclub events and parties surrounding Electric Daisy Carnival Las Vegas, which will be held June 19-21 at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
