Meet the Festpandas!

Name: Festpandas
Age: We don’t die, we multiply….bearly…
Hometown: The Glowstick Forest, but currently on tour.
Occupation: Spreading the Panda Love
Instagram: @festpandas

What was your first electronic music event?

Coachella was the first gathering of the festpandas, though we’re all relatively seasoned show-goers

What/who influenced you to attend your first event?

Just being outside among amazing people listening to great music was influence enough to start going. After that, all the other crazy animals we see at shows and events continue to be our biggest influence to keep going. Pandas are shy by nature, especially around humans. So when we see other animals out there doing their thing, it gets us out and excited!

What is one moment from an event that was special and why?

We just love the positive feeling people feel towards pandas, everyone we meet who is excited to see us and how hard we dance just perpetuates a cycle of enthusiasm. Energy is contagious.

What is your favorite festival or event?

Of what we’ve been to, Coachella and Burning Man for completely different and wonderful reasons. But there are so many other great fests we can’t wait to do. This year, we’re particularly excited for our first Electric Forest trip.

What is your favorite electronic song and why?

1. Pink Floyd’s On The Run….the synth takes on the life if its own in that song…and the more you listen to it, the more melodies you can pick out. It never gets old
2. Around You – Motorcycle (Gabriel and Dresden)- Classic Trance that used JES on vocals and an actual Bass guitar breakdown. 9 mins of bliss
3. PPK- Ressurection (Paul Oakenfold Remix) – The synths in the break down are just amazing
4. All My Love – Led Zeppelin – smooth, soft-action synth running through that boss which sets a great tone, then has a crazy cornucopia of synths in the bridge

Who are your favorite artists?

Daft Punk, Flume, Pink Floyd, The Beatles, Led Zeppelin

What are your favorite genres?

Classic Rock is king. In the EDM world, we just love creativity and unique sounds/samples/rhythms in any genre–which is why Flume is so awesome. And we’ve also been really panda vibing off deep house lately.
