What was your first electronic music event?
My first electronic music event was EDC 2008 in LA
What/who influenced you to attend your first event?
I had a group of friends who had told me to buy a ticket, get some crazy clothes, and prepare for an amazing night.
What is one moment from an event that was special and why?
The single most important part of my first event was having a chance to see my first glow stringer perform. I can’t remember the kids name but I will forever remember his green and yellow glow sticks and knowing that this was something i wanted to learn.
What is your favorite festival or event?
Burning Man!!! I am a huge sucker for massive art structures……..that shoot fire.
What is your favorite electronic song and why?
Lindsey Sterling’s “Master of Tides” My heart has a special relationship with violin. Growing up in an Irish household the fiddle was an instrument that is featured in a lot of Irish folk music. The song makes me think of my family, its happy, sad, crazy, and amazing all at the same time. I have been using this song for various circus performances for about two years, it still makes me smile every time i hear it.
Who are your favorite artists?
Kaskade, Pogo, Lindsey Sterling, Govinda, Porter Robinson, Knife Party, Parov Stellar, Eric Prydz, Bassnectar, and so many more.
What are your favorite genres?
I love all the EDM genres!
What do you feel your “Identity” is in the electronic music community?
In the electronic music community I am the poi spinner and the fire breather. Poi spinning and fire performing has become a passion to the point that I have joined a circus troupe, created a stage name, and am now getting paid to perform. The change from being a casual spinner and EDM fan to a professional performer has been one of the most rewarding transitions I have ever made. Being able to share something that bring me so much joy with others who appreciate my ability is a very rewarding feeling. I am always looking to give light shows, do tricks, tell jokes, breathe fire, or what ever the hell will make people happy. Because at the end of the day I am just looking to make people smile and enjoy themselves a little more.
